The following is a checklist of daily maintenance for slitting machines to help ensure efficient and stable operation of the equipment and extend its service life:

Slitting machine routine maintenance checklist: ensure efficient and stable operation

First, daily maintenance

1. Cleaning

◦ Remove dust, debris, and oil from the surface and inside of the equipment (especially blades, guide rails, and rollers).

◦ Use an air gun or soft cloth to clean the heat dissipation holes of the electrical control cabinet to prevent dust accumulation.

2. Lubrication check

◦ Check the lubrication of moving parts such as guide rails, bearings, and chains, and supplement an appropriate amount of lubricating oil (such as lithium-based grease).

◦ Ensure that the pneumatic system oil atomizer has sufficient lubricating oil (e.g. ISO VG32).

3. Blade status

◦ Check the blade sharpness and wear, and adjust or replace it if necessary.

◦ Confirm that the blade is tightened without loosening to prevent cutting deviations.

4. Pneumatic/hydraulic system

◦ Check whether the air pressure is stable (standard value is usually 0.5~0.8MPa).

◦ Check whether the gas or oil circuit is leaking air or oil.

5. Electrical safety

◦ Check whether the emergency stop button and safety protection device are normal.

◦ Observe whether there is abnormal noise or heat generation of the motor or frequency converter.

Second, weekly maintenance

1. Transmission system

◦ Check the tension of the belt/chain to avoid slipping or over-tightening wear.

◦ Clean gears, timing belts, and remove oil stains.

2. Roller maintenance

◦ Clean the surface of rubber rollers and metal rollers to check for scratches or deformation.

◦ Wipe the guide roller with alcohol to ensure that there are no glue stains.

3. Parameter calibration

◦ Check whether the parameters such as slitting width and tension control are accurate.

◦ Test the sensitivity of the photoelectric guidance system.

Third, monthly maintenance

1. Deep lubrication

◦ Grease replenishment for key components such as spindles and lead screws (e.g. NLGI Grade 2 grease).

2. Inspection of wear parts

◦ Check wearing parts such as bearings, bushings, brake pads, etc., and replace them in time.

◦ Evaluate blade service life and replace in batches to avoid sudden damage.

3. Electrical system

◦ Tighten the terminal blocks and check whether the cable is aging.

◦ Clean the cooling fan and ensure that the frequency converter and servo drive are well ventilated.

Fourth, quarterly/annual maintenance

1. System calibration

◦ Check the horizontality of the equipment and the parallelism of the rollers.

◦ Recalibrate tension sensors and encoders.

2. Overhaul

◦ Change the hydraulic/gear oil (according to the manufacturer's recommended interval).

◦ Check the condition of the carbon brushes and bearings (if any) of the motor.

3. Security testing

◦ Simulated test of safety interlock device and overload protection function.

Fifth, precautions

• Record maintenance logs: record the content of each maintenance, replacement parts and abnormal conditions.

• Shutdown maintenance: Be sure to carry out maintenance operations after power failure and pressure relief.

• Consumables reserve: Consumables such as blades, lubricating oil, and filter cartridges are always available.

Regular maintenance can reduce sudden failures, improve slitting accuracy and production efficiency. Adjust the maintenance interval according to the equipment model and manufacturer recommendations.
